About

We’re cracking the code on investing in cash-flowing small businesses.

Who We Are

We capture opportunity. And then add momentum.

At Saturn Five, we believe business is an adventure—and we love helping ideas, companies, and people get to bold new places.

We do that by buying and operating main street companies that generate cash flow and have a reputation for excellence—and are known for their commitment to their employees and communities.

Our strategy is to buy companies with enduring profitability, great teams, and loyal customers. Then we roll up our sleeves to get them to the next level, with professionalized operations and financial management. And we hold them for the long-term.
We do that to preserve the culture that made them great, because we believe that’s a strategy for strong returns—and because we believe the companies we buy make the world better, and we want them to keep on doing that.

And we don’t define success simply by the value we generate. We think we can’t really measure what we’ve accomplished unless we also count the ways we’ve made life better for the people we serve, the people who work for us, and the world.  And we hope that keeping our eye on those kinds of returns makes us a truly value-added alternative to private equity.

What We Do

We have a systematic approach to buying and running small businesses.

Source

We see thousands of opportunities each year.

Our growing reputation as a strong buyer gives us a high-quality deal stream.

Bid

We structure deals that lock in great returns Day 1.

We underwrite with a margin of safety such that our return targets can be achieved even if the business hardly grows.

Diligence

We use an in-depth due diligence process.

Some of the best decisions we make are deals we don’t do. We rigorously review the financials, the operations, the market, even the seller’s references.

Operate

We employ a hands-on approach to management.

Our team of Operating Partners work with our companies to run each business with a professionalized management approach based on EOS.

Our History

At Saturn Five, we’ve been buying and operating companies since 2017.

You may be wondering… “Hey, don’t you guys invest in startups?” Well, yes we used to.

We started with a focus on startups—and named ourselves after the first rocket that took astronauts all the way to the moon.

But over time, buying and operating small businesses has become our North Star.

We still believe in the power of startups. And one of our co-founders is currently launching Overmatch, to make early-stage venture investments in companies focused on outer space, critical technologies, and national security.

But the heartbeat of Saturn Five is now finding the country’s best small businesses, and giving them the support to grow their vision to the moon—and beyond.
